Mesa College Vocal Ensemble to Perform at St. Mark's

St. Mark's United Methodist Church has been offering the community a series of musical experiences that range from bluegrass to string quartets. There is no admission charge other than a goodwill offering and all are welcome.

This weekend they will present the San Diego Mesa College Vocal Ensemble, performing on Sunday, April 19, 2015  at 4:30 p.m. in the sanctuary  of St. Mark's United Methodist Church at 3502 Clairemont Dr., San Diego, CA 92117.

The auditioned choir of twenty five student singers will be performing Mozart's Requiem Mass and choral selections accompanied by the 22-piece professional Mozart Requiem Orchestra.*

The ensemble performs several concerts each semester and participates in choral festivals throughout California. A wide variety of music is performed by the group, from madrigals to vocal/orchestra works in a range of styles including Classical, Folk and Jazz.  There will be a reception in Fellowship Hall following the concert to meet and greet the members of the Ensemble.

Other upcoming concerts in St. Mark's Concert Series:

Sun, May 17: Spring Ring, 4:30 pm
The music of handbells and chimes will fill the air during our annual Spring Ring. There is a large selection of wonderful music arranged for bells that may not be suitable for worship services. This concert gives ringers and hearers alike the opportunity to enjoy some of these selections.
Sun, Jun 7: Organ & Trumpet Concert, 4:30 pm
Craig McIlwain and Carl Eitzen will present a concert of duets and solos for the trumpet and organ. They presented a similar concert several years ago and were so well received that we have invited them back.

*Please note: The program will also be performed on Saturday, April 18th, 2015 at 7pm at Tierrasanta Lutheran Church, 11240 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.
