In what is becoming a springtime tradition, Mission Federal Credit Union and Clairemont Hills Kiwanis are joining forces to present the 3rd Annual Fast Times 5K and Clairemont Day at the Bay on Saturday, April 18th, 2015.
The race will be held at De Anza Cove in Mission Bay Park and this year will be put on by Sandy Feet Events. There are 3 races: Timed; Community Run/Walk; and Schools. There will be medals for all entrants. Entry fees will raise funds for the schools and put emphasis on healthy life styles for our youth.
We encourage parents, students, and friends to take part. The races will begin at 8:00am. Register here: http://sandyfeetevents.com/fast-times-5k/.
After the races, the Clairemont Day at the Bay family activities will begin. Clairemont Day At The Bay is an informational fun fair with representatives, booths, performances, etc. from all the schools and corners of Clairemont (Booths, Jumpies, Entertainment, Games, Food, more). A fun day for all ages.
Clairemont Day at the Bay offers an interactive look at all that is happening at our schools in the Clairemont community and is open to all San Diego families. It is an activity-based event that will bring nineteen public schools from the community together with organizations that work with us in our schools.
The Clairemont Mesa Education Foundation and Clairemont Hills Kiwanis are working with several local organizations and the schools to set up family-focused activities and showcase the schools for the community. With several local sponsors and our new lead sponsor, Mission Federal Credit Union, we are pleased to see the building excitement at our local schools.
The funds raised from the race will benefit the Clairemont Mesa Education Foundation which supports the students in public schools in the community of Clairemont. This support will be through partnerships with businesses, organizations and residents within the community of Clairemont to assist the schools with financial support and in kind contributions for programs and projects as requested by school administrations and classroom teachers.
The Mission Federal Fast Times 5K race and Clairemont Day at the Bay activities will benefit the foundation by building community awareness of the foundation, further build relationships with local businesses and organizations and give the public schools within the community an opportunity to interact with public and share all that they have to offer.
