Work at Home Business Expo Next Weekend

Expo Gives Attendees Expert Insight to Running a Small Business

The Work at Home Business (WaHB) Expo is returning to San Diego for the second straight year, featuring a wider range of business model opportunities and offering participants expert advice on the ins and outs of starting and running their own home-based business. Attendants of this year’s expo will have the chance to meet with dozens of home-based business exhibitors and hear from some of the region’s best business minds.

“In a time when job security is so unstable, why wouldn’t someone want to look into the option of securing their own primary or additional income?” said Derek Romo, producer of the WaHB Expo. Recent studies show that many Americans are doing just that. Home-based-business models have exploded in recent years, with the most recent Census data showing home-based businesses grew to 19 million in 2010, up from 13.5 million in 2008.

The WaHB Expo includes a wide variety of home business models to ensure that participants are able to find the model that best suits each person’s preference and skill set. “We exist to show people that starting your own business from home doesn’t have to look one way or another,” says Romo. “There can be a lot of inaccurate stigmas out there about home business models. It’s easy to forget that companies like Apple, Hershey’s and Ford were once home based businesses. Granted those are some extraordinary examples, but they still serve as a reminder that home based businesses can be the launching point for great entrepreneurship.”

In addition to face-to-face interactions with exhibitors, participants will hear from established businesspersons, as well as a panel of innovative entrepreneurs who turned their passions into profit. Saturday’s headline speaker will be George Chamberlin, host of “Money Matters” on KOGO radio. Seminars will be offered both Saturday and Sunday throughout the afternoon.

The WaHB Expo will be held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on Saturday March 3 from 10:00a.m.-5:00p.m., and Sunday March 4 from 10:00a.m.-4:00p.m. Purchase your tickets online in advance to receive a discount price of $8. Tickets will also be available at the door for $10, or a two-day pass for $15. Active duty military with ID and children under 12 receive free admission.
